My Platform

Financial Prudence
Over the past 4 years I have fought relentlessly to keep taxes low, and to relieve pressure on our city’s reserve accounts. I voted against the last 2 tax increases after proposing a number of unapproved motions that would have saved the tax payer over 5%. I also proposed several successful motions that have saved residents close to 2% in tax rate increases since 2022.
As chair of the Audit Committee these past 3 years, I have my finger on the pulse of our City’s fiscal reality. This background knowledge as chair, combined with my business acumen, gives me the proper tools to guide Red Deer forward.

Standing for Conservative Values
We’ve witnessed a shift in all orders of government where it seems only progressive values are heard and accepted. Our conservative voices are also important, not only in Red Deer but across this nation. They need to be represented in local government.
All voices matters and everyone’s belief system carries value. Diversity, Equity & Inclusion are great words if we actually lean into their proper definitions.

Less Government Involvement
As a City Councillor for the past 4 years I have witnessed first-hand the desire for council and administration to get involved in topics and issues that are outside our scope as a municipality. This has led to poor budget decisions while taking our focus away from our core services. When the City tries to be the answer for everyone, we become the answer for no one.

Common Sense Solutions
Although we often deal with very complex problems, the answers usually come from simple solutions. Common sense is a term that seems to have disappeared from all levels of government over the last decade. It’s time we bring it back and apply it to all the issues in our city.
